Teen Photography Program @ Main Library!

:: Teen Photography Program Kick-off

Starting Monday, June 16 @ 1:00 pm, UCR/ California Museum of Photography

If you enjoy photography, writing and visual arts, check out the Riverside Public Library’s 10-week Teen Photography Program (see schedule) this summer. The project will document the area surrounding the Main Library downtown using digital photography and the written word as well as local history. You get to decide what you would like to photograph, write about and discover. You will also be able to learn about the local history of downtown with a professor from UCR.

In addition to learning cool new stuff, you will also gain some sweet new skills! The library will provide digital cameras for you to use and access to the UCR's California Museum of Photography’s state of the art digital photo lab. At the end of the 10 weeks an exhibit will take place at the Main Library where you can show off your photos and voice your views to the community. An online exhibit will also be created by the California Council for the Humanities to showcase the exhibit.

So if you are looking for something new and interesting to do this summer – a project that will help you see the downtown in a whole new way, help you to master digital photography skills and give you the chance to work in a college photo lab, then you have come to the right place. Come be a part of the first Teen produced photo exhibit and history of downtown Riverside where you are the author – sharing the unique insight that only you can bring to the project!
